Santa Maria DUI Enforcement
In an increased attempt to reduce injury-causing and fatal drunk driving crashes, officials with the Santa Maria Police Department have recently stepped up their DUI enforcement efforts. According to KSBY News Channel Six, the police department conducted roving DUI saturations patrols from 6:00 p.m. on Saturday night to 3:00 a.m. early Sunday morning. They made three arrests during this operation, including two suspected DUI arrests and one arrest for a felony warrant.
Additionally, they also issued seven citations during the roving patrol operation. Although they setup a sobriety and license checkpoint on North Broadway, they didn’t make any arrests there. The Santa Maria Police Department has been able to step up their DUI enforcement efforts thanks to a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety.
