DUI Injury Crash in Santa Maria
In the early morning hours on Sunday, a two-car crash involving a suspected drunk driver sent at least four people to the hospital. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the incident happened at about 12:45 a.m. at North Broadway and Taylor Street. Apparently, a Chevy pickup truck was heading north on Broadway when it broadsided an eastbound Ford Mustang. The driver of the Mustang ran a red light prior to the car being struck.
First responders had to extricate the victims from the Mustang. The driver of the pickup truck sustained minor injuries. Everybody was taken to Marian Regional Medical Center for treatment, and the Mustang driver, 18-year-old Estaban Cardona, was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI and child endangerment.
