Bicyclist Injured by Unlicensed Driver
On Thursday morning, a bicyclist was struck and injured by an unlicensed driver in Santa Maria. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the incident happened near College Drive and Betteravia Road. Apparently, the cyclist was on the east shoulder of College Drive, when he was hit by a pickup truck being driven by an unlicensed driver.
Thankfully, the bicycle rider was wearing a helmet, but he still had to be airlifted to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment of major injuries. There’s no word on his current condition, but the unlicensed driver was cited, and his vehicle was impounded.
